Dear North Richmond YMCA Family and Friends,

Our North Richmond YMCA is located in a neighborhood rich in diversity and history. Our roots are in the African American community. Our identity is based on Christian principles, and I am honored to be the branch executive director of such a values-driven organization.

In 2010, $410,000 is needed to help our community. The generosity of individuals like you, along with local businesses, churches, civic organizations, corporations, foundations, allows the North Richmond YMCA to be open to all.

Please give now to our Planting Seeds of Hope Annual Giving Campaign:

• $1,500 gives a child 10 weeks of summer camp experience
• $1,000 helps send two teen leaders to Blue Ridge Leaders School
• $520 pays for one month of preschool
• $365 supports a one-year membership for teens
• $360 pays for one month of after-school care
• $15 sends a child on a YMCA field trip

Through your gifts last year:

• 102 preschoolers were educationally, socially, and emotionally prepared for kindergarten
• 75 school-age children and 90 teens enjoyed a safe, literacy-rich environment after school
• 10 teenagers attended a Leaders Club rally in North Carolina where they joined with other teens from Virginia and North Carolina to experience unity and learn more leadership and fitness skills
• 150 children enjoyed summer camp in a nurturing, safe, exciting environment

Through your financial support, our “open to all” policy allows our programs and services to be offered to those who might not be able to afford membership, or preschool and after-school programs. Your gifts ensure that our North Richmond YMCA is a community center where families, neighbors, singles, and youth can connect with programs designed to improve spirit, mind, and body. Here everyone can work out, swim, relax with yoga, and play basketball – all amenities of a good gym. Add preschool, after-school care, teen programs, youth sports leagues, Silver Sneakers, and a caring and supportive staff — all these combine to make North Richmond branch OUR YMCA.
